Nestled in a narrow valley of the Aravalli Hills on the eastern edge of Jaipur, Galta Ji is one of Rajasthan’s most serene and spiritually significant heritage sites. Surrounded by rugged hills, natural springs, and centuries-old temples, this sacred complex feels like a hidden oasis away from the city’s bustle.
Galta Ji is famous for its natural water kunds (tanks) that are continuously fed by mountain springs. Pilgrims believe the water here is holy, and many visitors take a ritual dip in the main kund. The architecture—crafted in pink sandstone with domes, pavilions, and carved gateways—blends beautifully with the landscape, especially at sunrise when the hills glow golden.
Often called the “Monkey Temple” by visitors, the area is home to large troops of langurs and monkeys that move freely around the steps and terraces, adding to the place’s unique character.
For runners and visitors alike, Galta Ji offers more than a route—it offers an experience where nature, heritage, and tranquility come together.
